Relationship Issues

Relationship Issues

Humans are relational beings, we are pack animals who need to connect with other humans and this can bring with it challenges. How we relate to others depends very much on how we ourselves are and were related to, in other words we learn how to be with others from our first group; our family. And we have expectations of others based on these initial family dynamics. As we grow up the outside world has more influence on how we develop our understanding of who and how we are in the world and this includes our relationships with others.

We all have relationships; they can be intimate, romantic,  friendships, between family members, collegial, with an organisation. If you are struggling with relationship problems you may be regularly finding yourself frustrated, angry, feeling unheard, ignored and wanting to change things and finding yourself stuck or confused about how to make that happen. Counselling and longer term therapy can help by providing a nonjudgmental place to explore , better understand and make change happen.
